Rizzo’s Bar & Inn

Located on North Clark St, just across from Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, Rizzo’s serves as a hub of activity for the community during the year, most especially during baseball season in the city. The 7,000-square-foot bar hosts multiple floors for TV’s, LED Displays, and music for its patrons to enjoy and evoke new-age technology with an old-school homage to the community it serves.

Challenge

RBI engaged Axonix Systems to address significant issues impacting several critical legacy systems. The primary concerns included intermittent failures in their OnControls platform, problems with the LED video display system, and various internet and structured cabling inefficiencies. These issues were compromising the overall functionality of their audiovisual setup.

Solution

Axonix Systems developed a comprehensive and cost-effective resolution plan that modernized the core infrastructure. Key actions included:

• LED Video Display: Refurbishing existing LED control panels to restore full functionality and reliability.

• A/V Control Platform Migration: Migrating the outdated OnControls platform to the robust Q-SYS Core platform for enhanced performance and centralized control.

• Video Switching Upgrade: Updating the video switching infrastructure to Linksys components for improved signal management.

• System Infrastructure Cleanup: Systematically cleaning up and replacing outdated and poorly managed cabling within the systems rack, improving stability and organization.

• Network Optimization: Resolving connectivity and performance issues by updating DNS settings within the existing firewall.

Outcome

Axonix Systems successfully determined and resolved all specified issues. Crucially, all system upgrades and replacements were performed without interrupting RBI’s business operations, ensuring the A/V system remained fully functional throughout the process. RBI now benefits from a reliable, modern, and easily maintainable technology infrastructure
